We came from Chicago to visit my parents in Highlands and were craving boudin. We were so excited to see this place right in Highlands as we usually have to travel far to get good boudin. We tried the pork and chicken cracklings. They were both perfectly crunchy not overdone. The boudin balls were all delicious especially the jalapeño one. I didn’t care for the crawfish empanada, but my husband loved it and the customer service was excellent as well. The lady there would take her time to explain the different items and just was very patient which we really appreciated.
We got pork cracklings and OH MAN , they were delicious and just the perfect amount of fat. We also got 2 boudin balls....one regular and one jalapeno cream cheese. Bother we're good and flavorful, the jalapeno one was spicy yet good.
Stopped here to try so Boudin. I got an array of things. A regular and peperjack Boudin Ball, a regular Boudin wrap, sausage, a spare rib, and a crawfish pie. Also bought a broccoli casserole stuffed pork chop. My favorite was the crunchy wrap. Would definitely get more of those. The rib was good. The sausage link was yummy. The balls were ok. And my first crawfish food wasn't my thing. The pork chop cooked up nicely and was delicious. The stuffing though was more rice and not much broccoli so I'd probably try a different one. All and all good stuff.
I wanted to try a little of everything so I got a fried rib, a smoked boudin link, a cream cheese jalapeño boudin ball and a handful of fried chicken cracklings. Lawd have mercy. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious. 10 outta 10 for sure! And I ate too fast to take photos.
Wow!! These cracklings both the chicken and pork are very very good. Seems like I got here at the right time as they are both I said cooked within the last 20-30 minutes and wow the flavor is so good. Just wish I had brought a cooler because they have so much stuffed meats I probably would have spent a bunch because everything looked so good.
My go to place for boudin and sausage. I love the new location and the staff are always friendly and helpful and the food...yum, yum
